Terms of use

Last updated 2026-09-27

Ho-Hum is provided by Abraham Richards Burnett (Mythgate).

License

Apple’s standard license (EULA) applies: Apple’s Standard EULA.

Subscription

Ho-Hum is sold by subscription only: weekly, monthly, and annual plans. Monthly and annual start with 7 free nights; weekly has no trial — the free first story is the trial. Prices come from the App Store and are shown on the paywall before you pay.

The trial converts to a paid plan unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Payment is charged to the Apple ID. The subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancel any time in Settings; manage the subscription in iOS Settings.

Acceptable use

Use Ho-Hum for personal listening. Do not misuse the service, attempt to break its protections, or upload material that is unlawful or abusive.

Generated stories

Stories are generated and can be wrong or odd.

Not a medical device or a crisis service

Ho-Hum is not a medical device or a crisis service, and in an emergency, call local emergency services.

Content ownership

The stories Ho-Hum writes belong to us, including the parts written from your notes, to the extent the law recognizes rights in them. The notes you type stay yours: you let us use them to write your story, and we delete them from our servers once your phone has the whole story.

We give you a personal, non-transferable license to read, play and keep your stories in the app, for your own non-commercial use. We never put a story written from your notes into the shared library or show it to anyone else. The library, the topic stories and the app itself are ours.
